About Us

The Washington DC Couture Wedding Consortium was founded by Katie L. Martin from the event design firm Elegance & Simplicity Wedding & Event Designers, Inc. Since its inception in 2001, the Washington DC Couture Wedding Consortium originally was a small group of vendors hand-picked by Elegance & Simplicity Wedding & Event Designers, Inc. for their consistent excellent service among their wedding consulting clients.

After the 1st year, the consortium grew based on the knowledge that all vendors had to be voted in by the members of the consortium. The consortium has expanded its original intention of not only showcasing the finest wedding professionals but provided philanthropic avenues for its members as well. The creativity of the members launched the 1st Annual Charity Wedding on September 11, 2004 providing 1 couple with a $30,000 wedding. The consortium, still only space for a coveted few, has been the envy among Washington DC area wedding professionals.
